Michael and Florence are just the latest examples of billion-dollar disasters affecting millions of Americans along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts late this year with roaring high winds, rain and flooding.<\/p>\n
It is impossible to view the scenes of devastation and not feel the need to help in some way.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo many lives have been changed forever,\u201d said Gov. Rick Scott of Florida, one of the states hit hardest by Hurricane Michael. \u201cSo many families have lost everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Because of those disruptions, SC is \u201ccommitted to doing everything we can to help our customers in their time of need \u2026 and are prepared to assist you,\u201d said SC in a separate message, noting that \u201cwe have programs in place to help customers experience difficulty due to [the hurricanes].\u201d<\/p>\n
Similar programs were employed for victims of the Western wildfires this past summer.<\/p>\n
